The Safe Harbor boarding school story is portrayed in the 2009 movie “Safe Harbor” on the Hallmark Channel, which still airs periodically today. Safe Harbor has been featured nationally in People Magazine, and on CBS This Morning, NBC News Today, CNN, and CBN.

Safe Harbor turns adrift teenage boys into mature and capable young men. Boys who enroll at Safe Harbor may be struggling from depression, defiance, behavioral and academic failure, minor drug use or trouble with the law. Typically, boys in these situations need to see a less narrow view of the world, one not so focused on themselves or keeping up with their peers.

Although you may be looking for a boarding school in Arlington, Tennessee, please consider that the Safe Harbor maritime experience combined with the one-on-one attention, counsel and training make an unequaled opportunity for growth and change in behavior.

For struggling boys, Safe Harbor boarding school teaches boating and maritime skills, gives practical life skills, and promotes character in the context of vocational education, all while boys work toward their high school diplomas. The boys (many have come from Arlington, Tennessee) live on board vessels at this waterfront boarding school. They gain knowledge of boating on the ocean and rivers while learning respect for self and others, self-reliance, perseverance, and much more. Each teen who graduates from Safe Harbor learns to captain his own vessel, both literally and figuratively.
